Guest Designer Julie Weise

Hi Everyone!
Today is a special day! I am a guest designer at Miss Kate Cuttables! What an honor this is!!! For my projects today I used the Ladybug on a Leaf design. I found this darling box at Michael's added some brownies and a bow. I then make this sweet little tag and matching card to go along with it. I made the brownies for my aunt because she watched my mom for a day so my husband and I thought it would be sweet to make her a thank you gift from me.

Be sure to head on over to Miss Kate's Cuttables to pick up this darling cut file for very own! :0)

Thank you for the opportunity to be a guest designer. Sincerely, Julie. :0)

Guest Designer Karin Adamczyk

Today's project is brought to you by Guest Designer Karin Adamczyk from SDIVADesigns.

I have been steering away from traditional scrapbooking for some time now. I have been dabbling in painting, Copic colouring, journaling, planner decorating and lettering. While watching video after video on all these techniques, I learned about the traveler's journal world and got myself a passport sized Midori.

I love this one because it is small enough to keep in my purse at all times so that I can take notes when we travel and journal during the trip.

At first, my Midori was a bit boring because all my inserts looked like this one--plain and undecorated. Then I learned that people decorate the fronts of their inserts. I pulled out the items above to decorate with and used Miss Kate Cuttables' The World Awaits set to add some special touches. I cut the pieces with my Silhouette Cameo. Since the colour of the cover is quite dark, I used some gesso to highlight my design. The airplane was a bit too big for the cover so I cut it to fit. I used my Xyron sticker maker to apply adhesive to my pieces and then placed them on the cover. I ended up not using the washi tape shown in my picture above.

I love the final result and can't wait to start working on my journal this weekend. We are only taking a short road trip, but it's a start!

Cat Note Cards

It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.  First, a reminder to take advantage of the Freebie of the Day at the Miss Kate Cuttables store.  I decided to use the Cat Silhouette Set, in honor of International Cat Day earlier this month, to make a set of note cards in their own little gift box.

Here's the full set with the gift box in the back:

I made the cards and the box with card stock and note cards from Stampin' Up.  The cat silhouette is cut out of the red and the same silhouette was cut from black.  I placed the black cat in the cut out on the red and attached them to a mat of black.  Then I embossed it using the Square Lattice embossing folder.

To fill an empty corner, I cut a circle framed cat paw in crumb cake and placed it on a slightly larger circle of  black.

Here's a picture of the gift box in which the cards are stored.  I made this using a cut file in the Silhouette store.  It was actually intended as a box for a thick card, but I changed the dimensions to work with these note cards:

And here's an individual picture of one of the cards.  You can see the remaining cards on my blog, if you're interested.

Waste not, want not...I used the red cut out inside the note card for a cute little accent.

I know just who is getting these notes cards.  They will be purr-fect for her!

See you next month with another project!
