'Tis the Season to be Freezin'

Hi folks, it's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.  And I sure am happy to be here.

Before I share my project today, I want to remind you to pick up your Freebie of the Day...it's like Christmas every day at Miss Kate's!

I'm not a fan of the cold weather, so it stands to reason I'm not big into outdoor winter sports and activities.  But that's certainly not the case with these Penguins Sledding!  You can just see the delight on their faces as they race down that hill, can't you?

I knew I wanted to make a slider card, but I had a hard time deciding between this cut file and the Penguins Ice Skating.  Either would have worked well!

I used another cut file for the inside, 'Tis the Season to be Freezin'.  Actually, I used just one of the words, but this is a really nice title and I plan on using it in its entirety some other time.

If you'd like to see more pictures of the card and details about how it came together, please visit me at Katydid Cards.  If you visit, be sure to say hello!

Holiday Signs

Hi, it's Amy and I'm sharing on the blog today.
Before we start, don't forget to grab the Freebie of the Day.

Are you ready for Christmas and have you had some time to craft?
I am ready and I did do some crafting this year. I am totally addicted to making these holiday signs.

I picked up the bases at Target in the Dollar Spot for $3. They are chargers. I have been seeing them all over Facebook in some of the groups I belong to since early November and every time I went to Target I checked for them with no luck. One day in mid December I went in and spotted them! I was so excited and bought a dozen of them.
I am so glad I did - I have been having so much fun creating these signs.

Here are images of each design and I will list the Miss Kate file under each.

Christmas Eve Santa

Hi Everybody!
I'm so excited to share another Miss Kate Cuttables project with you! First I want to make sure you grab the freebie of the day:

Now, onto today's project! Here is the file I used:

There are so many types of projects you can use with silhouette shape files!  They are great for some easy, and gorgeous cards, shirts, etc.  I love to use them as home decor!  Here is how my project turned out:

*This was so fun!  And of course I HAD to add a red bling to the front reindeer and make him Rudolph!

I hope you enjoyed my project! I'd love to see some of you try one of these and share it on the Miss Kate Cuttables Facebook page HERE, or on my Facebook page HERE. TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)

Hot Chocolate Fixes Everything!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Thank you for joining me to day - be sure to go grab your Feebie of the Day!

I need to give some quick neighbor gifts so I decided to make some Hot Chocolate holders.  These were so easy and fun to make...

I used 2 files from Miss Kate Designs - Hot Cocoa and Snowflake.   I made a border in Photoshop by duplicating one of the snowflakes in a row across the bottom and top of my paper.

I hope you enjoyed my project and that you will come back often to see new projects from our wonderful Design Team!

Guest Designer Evelyn Holmberg

Well, I've been keeping this secret for a whole year! Last year, Miss Kate Cuttables had a guest design tryout. I tried out and was given the December 16th date. Long time to keep a secret! I chose three awesome files to work with. The first two, My Family Tree is Full of Nuts and Fall Squirrel, worked well together and I thought would make a perfect mini-album for family photos. Here's the front cover: p1130063
I love the big flowers, and all the different fonts kind of add to the nuttiness of this title, don't you agree? The back cover has the adorable Fall Squirrel on it:p1130066It's bound with my Bind it All. I can't wait to start putting family pictures into it. I'm going to have everyone pose with funny faces to carry the theme through the album! Miss Kate Cuttables files are always so detailed. You can use some of the pieces individually. For instance, the word Family with its pretty script font could be used as a title on a scrapbook page with a totally different feel. I really liked the simple, fun flowers from that first image and the simple, fun leaves from the squirrel image, so I decided to showcase them separately. I made long and skinny cards to fit in business sized envelopes. p1130372p1130374p1130369p1130371

The third file I chose to work with is called Darling Daughter . The peacock feather-inspired flowers in this file are absolutely gorgeous. I used a dotted embossing folder to give the background some interest. p1130362p1130365Thank you, Miss Kate, for allowing me this guest designer spot! It was a lot of fun!

Gatefold Birthday Cards

Hello Everyone - It's Amy. I like to give handcrafted Birthday Cards throughout the year. I like to create a bunch at a time so I have them whenever I need them.

Before we jump into my project don't forget to grab the Freebie of the Day!
Isn't this gingerbread man so cute?

I use the Print and Cut method on my Cameo for the cards. I first select all the elements and open them in the Cameo Designer Edition software. I print this out and include the registration marks.

I then trace the elements and do an offset. (This is indicated with the red outline on the image below.) I place the paper on my mat, detect registration marks and then select the outline areas and indicate those to cut.

Here are my cards:
These are both gatefold cards and I'm sharing the outside and inside views.
The flat card is 10" wide x 7" high and each fold comes in 2.5" from the edges.

I used the following Miss Kate files:

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope this gives you some inspiration to get some Birthday Cards completed for 2017!
