Guest Designer Terri Burson

I've been a fan of Miss Kate Cuttables svg cut files for quite some time and consider this company to be one of the premiere sites for svg files.  So, when they asked me to be a guest designer this year, of course, I said, "YES!"  Today, I'm featuring a couple of their nautical files which includes the Sail Away Title and Sailboat.  These can be purchased and downloaded for .50 ea.  Of course, you can always grab the Freebie of the Day, every single day!

I thought it would be fun to actually cut my nautical designs with nautical papers.  Happily, I chose the Carta Bella Ahoy There collection.  They paired beautifully with my MKC cut files, don't you think?

To cut my svg files, I depend on my Cricut Explore.  I also used my Cuttlebug to cut the stitched oval frame as the backdrop for my focal point; that amazing sailboat.  The layered waves were made by using a 2" circle punch and simply inserting my cardstock partially into the punch, about 1/4" to 1/2" in, then punch.   I have 3 different wave colors, light blue, white and beige.  I fussy cut and shaped the top layer of waves to follow the inside stitched edge of my die cut.

You don't always have to follow the MKC graphic image samples.  It's fun to experiment with patterned papers.  Mix it up a little!  If you're not using the print and cut feature of your Cricut Explore, mixing solid and patterned die cuts adds a lot of interest to your designs.

Thanks so much to Miss Kate Cuttables for having me design for them today.  I had so much fun and look forward to making many more memories with my cut files for future projects.

Stop by any of my social media sites and say hi!

Movie Night

Hi Everybody!

I'm so excited to share another Miss Kate Cuttables project with you! First I want to make sure you grab the freebie of the day:

Now, onto today's project! Here is the file I used.

While this treat could be used for anything, I actually created this for a teacher appreciation gift! I found out what our principals favorite candy was, then packaged it in these fun tubes.

*You could attach a movie ticket to the bag, or even a gift card for a Redbox rental
(which is what we did).

I hope you enjoyed my project! I'd love to see some of you try one of these and share it on the Miss Kate Cuttables Facebook page HERE, or on my Facebook page HERE. TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)

I added rhinestones on the sunglasses.

I added glossy accents to all of the pretty flowers.

Summer Camp Layout

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
(and Happy National Scrapbook Day, a day late)

Hi Everyone. It's Amy and I'm sharing on the blog today.
Don't forget to grab the freebie of the day!

I just love Miss Kate Cuttable files for scrapping!
They are so easy to paper piece and you can even switch up the title if you need to.

here is my layout:

I used the Compass from the Camping Set.
I used the pen tool for the arrow and letters.

You can find this cool Tent here.
I made the colors match the tents on the camp site.

The trees on the right are two from Set of Trees.
I switched up the title a bit. I used the "CAMPER" from the Happy Campers Title
I took just the CAMPER portion and created an offset in my designer edition software for the Cameo.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you find some time to craft this weekend!
