Hello Gorgeous!!!

Hello there gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by.  mADDmartha megan here to share today's project.

Before we get into all that, make sure and go get your freebie!  Today's freebie just makes me hungry!  It's this adorable ice cream cone!
Ok... now back to regularly scheduled programming. ;)

I got an assortment of colored vinyl for Christmas, and I've been dying to play with it!  So for today's project, I played with a set I've had for awhile... and used quite a bit.  The Hello Gorgeous Set.  I am a make-up junkie so I'm pretty sure this set was in my cart the first day I was on Miss Kate Cuttables!
I got some really cute sparkly tumblers at Big Lots a while back so I set to work!  I used the title, but only used the words and the gray shaded background as it was the larger one and I wanted more background space around the lettering.  I also placed diamonds above my layers for layering purposes.  The idea is you place the diamonds above your layered cut and set different layers to not cut as you go so you can just line up the diamond shapes and the layered shape will easily stack.

Here's some progress shots:

I lost one diamond... but the diamond shapes are going to help us line up the next layer
Here I've got my transfer tape on my next layer and ready to go...
Now I line up the diamonds and smoosh it down... technical.  Smooshing. :)
Voila!  First layer down.
Then I just repeated the process with the word "hello".  Use the same piece of transfer tape and smoosh.  This time instead of carefully removing the transfer tape, I carefully lifted the whole design up and then used my fingernail to remove the positioning shapes... in this case diamonds.

Next, I propped up my tumblr so I could adhere the vinyl.  I used empty crystal light containers because they were sitting on my craft desk.  I save pretty much every container because I might have a project idea.  Please tell me I'm not alone here ladies! lol

Finally here's the finished project.  I love how it turned out!

I hope you'll stop by my YouTube channel sometime.  Thanks for stopping by!

Spa Girl Gift Card Holder

Hello lovelies!  It's mADDmartha megan from YouTube here to take over the MKC blog today.  Check out today's freebie!  Make sure and grab this oh-so-useful file before day's end.
For my project today, I wanted to make a gift card holder.  My bestie's birthday is coming up, and I'm planning on giving her a spa day gift card... DON'T WORRY!  She isn't crafty so she won't see this post. lol

I have been wanting to use this mud mask wearing Spa Girl for so long.  This was the perfect opportunity!
I found a couple of tutorials online for gift card holders, and I combined measurements and concepts from all of them into one.  I assembled my gift card holder to see how big I wanted to make my girl.  Once I had done that, I sized her to about the size I wanted and arranged the pieces in my software.  I put all my paper on one mat.  I hate loading and reloading!
And here's my mat after cutting.

Without further adieu, the finished project...
I actually didn't have a shade of green for her "mask" that I thought would look right so I cut that piece in white and used chalk to color it green.  It is perfect in person, although the contrast doesn't show up as much on camera.

And the best action shots I could get one handed...

Thanks for stopping by!  See you next post!

Get Well Greetings

Hey everyone!  I'm Megan also known as mADDmartha megan.  So glad to have you all here today for my first post to the MKC blog!  I'm so excited about this team, and I'm learning every day as I come from the world of YouTube not as much from traditional blogging.  Before we get started, don't forget to go snag your Daily Freebie over at the MKC online store!  Today's Freebie is an adorable set of flowers that could be used a million different ways!

Flower Group Freebie

My YouTube name was picked long ago because sometimes I have a short attention span when I'm crafting so I wanted to keep today's project pretty simple.  I've been wanting to send a handmade card to a dear friend who is having some health issues so that was my mission.  I used the adorable Get Well Soon Set... but another set that would work nicely would be the Sorry You're Sick Set.  It's definitely on my "make a card with that" list! :)

Sorry You're Sick

Here's my completed card!

I'm loving the tone on tone look of coordinating patterned papers right now so I started with that in mind.  I left the inside blank so I can write some words of encouragement.

One thing I always do is try to "fill up" my mat when I'm arranging in my die cutting software.  That way I can cut multiples.  I was able to make 4 of these cards in no time!  I love having cards on hand... don't you?

I hope I've inspired you to create a card or project with one of these cute sets!  I'd love it if you'd head over to my YouTube Channel!

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check the blog daily to see what my fabulous friends create!
