Guest Designer Evelyn Holmberg

This is my third year guest designing for Miss Kate Cuttables. It's such an honor and so much fun!! It's always hard to decide which adorable file to showcase, but this year I decided to go with Santa. And there are so many to choose from!! I picked Waving Santa for my project, which is a Christmas card. He measures 3.36".

I used the offset tool in Silhouette Design Studio to give him a black shadow so you can see him on the busy background. The paper is from Stampin' Up's Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 designer series. To make Santa, I assembled his face on the virtual mat and did a print and cut. I cut an extra white moustache to layer on top of the print/cut one. The frame he's on is just made with squares and rectangles assembled in the Silhouette software, and the snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch. A "candy" for his pom pom and a white brad in the snowflake center finish off the card! Santa was easy to assemble and is really cute; I think I'll cut him again at 5" to adorn my Christmas scrapbook pages this year!! :)Ho, ho, ho! Merrrrrry Christmas! Evelyn

I Love You Snow Much!

Well I have to say digital scrapbooking is coming a little easier and I think I might be able to catch up from years passed when I didn't know what scrapbooking was!  For today's layout I used several files from the store, it's really nice being able to get everything I need from one place.  The first thing I used was the Winter Woodland Paper Collection. This collection is soooo pretty and you get 16 different papers with it.

 Next I used the Girl Christmas Penguin and Christmas Penguin, which are adorable.

Then I used my title I Love You Snow Much Title

This Nutcracker is Sweet!

Hello folks!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards.

Check out this great Nutcracker SVG from Miss Kate Cuttables!  And while you're doing that, be sure to pick up your Freebie of the Day as well.  What a great way to enhance your SVG library at no expense to you!

This Nutcracker has lots of layers (just like all Miss Kate's files) so there's lots of depth and dimension.  I did very little else to the card; I added a mat of patterned paper from the Christmas Basics Digital Collection.   Embossing it with the Tiny Stars embossing folder further enhanced the paper.  To further embellish the Nutcracker, I added Jewel Bling from Eyelet Outlet.

For inside the card, I used a simple sentiment and added the Nutcracker, converted to print only and reduced in size.  I color matched the background to the patterned paper on the front.

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be a guest designer for Miss Kate Cuttables and share with you this very elegant Fall inspired card.  

 I used a Miss Kate Cuttables file called Oak Leaves and my Cricut to cut the SVG out of cardstock. For the acorn pieces, I used various shades of brown cardstock to create the illusion of dimension by layering the cut pieces.  

 I was really inspired by my recent trip to Chicago and seeing all of the bright and bold colors of leaves changing for the Fall season. I wanted to recreate the boldness of those leaves in my card and after cutting the oak leaves from Neenah 110lb. smooth white cardstock, I colored them using my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers. The markers I used to color the leaves are Olive Jade, Smoked Quartz, Harvest Moon, Red Berry and Moonlight. Once the cutting, coloring and adhering all of the pieces was complete, I used a wood grain patterned paper for the card base. I white heat embossed the sentiment and completed the card with orange enamel dots. That’s all for me today, check out the video link below to see how I created this card.
