July 4th Pop-Out Card

Hello everyone!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

With the 4th of July is right around the corner, I thought I'd make a card in honor of the occasion.  Before I share it with you, I want to remind you to pick up your Freebie of the Day at Miss Kate Cuttables.

For my card, I picked the July 4th Title just to show you this doesn't have to be reserved for scrapbook pages only.  It worked perfectly on my card:

I call this card fold a Pop-Out card, though I'm really not sure of its official name.  Whatever you call it, I like that it takes no more cardstock than a standard A2 card, but its unique fold is a nice surprise for the recipient.  The card base is a cut file purchased in the Silhouette Store...did you know Miss Kate's files are available there as well?

Miss Kate has lots of digital (and now physical) paper collections to make their files.  I used a pattern from the Summer Fun Basics Collection.

I created a print and cut from the title.  The word July was cut out separately and applied it atop the printed word.  Next, I added a heavy coating of Glossy Accents.  Since I had the Glossy Accents in my hand, I went ahead and added a dollop to each of the red circles on the digital paper as well.

I had a Wink of Stella brush in my hand to add to the fireworks but stopped myself as I worried it might be too much.  Then again, I love too much on my cards, so I just might go back and add it. ;-)

Roller Skate Card

Hi, Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place here to show you a very quick but fun card for any occasion. I actually used these cards for an invitation to a roller skating party but you can use it for anything. A fun birthday card for a child, a "let's roll" card to invite someone to a night out, a memory card for when you used to go roller skating, or just a fun card to say hi to a active person!

Before we get into the card instructions, don't forget to "roll" over to Miss Kate Cuttables for their daily freebie!!

First off, buy your set of skates! You can make male or female skates! I cut the female ones out with my Silhouette Cameo 3. I just layered all the pieces together and glued them with craft glue. Nothing special or hard to do.

I just did a simple card base of pink with some glitter paper to mimic the "disco balls" we used to skate too in the old days and I see they still use them today!!
I taped the back skate down with tape and used some foam adhesive to pop up the top skate to add some layers and to add movement I tilted the skate a bit to look like it is in motion.
I added some tiny decorative dots in the corner and this card is done!!

I love this card! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Thanks for stopping by!

Take A Hike!

Hello ~ It's Amy and I'm sharing on the Blog today!

DON'T FORGET
TO GRAB THE FREEBIE OF THE DAY!

As my son is getting older, he's taking on more responsibilities within his Boy Scout Troop. It's so fun to watch as he takes on leadership roles and helps the younger scouts.

The troop was going working on their Hiking Merit badge and my son Will was in charge of finding the location and making the arrangements.  They even called it the "Will McCabe Hike" :)

I created a 2 page scrapbook layout to capture the memories...

I used the TAKE A HIKE SVG COLLECTION:

How perfect are those files?

Here's the title

Love the Hiking Boots! (also love the photo of the leader and my son looking at the map)

I added the compass as an element - I thought it balanced out the circle on the right page nicely.

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my project!

Guset Designer- Alicia O'Bryant

Good morning, I am so excited to be today's Miss Kate Cuttables Guest Designer!  There were so many fantastic images with which to work.  It was hard to decide but I always have tons of camping pics, so this great title and the Camping borders were perfect for my many pages.  Really the arrows are so versatile, I am thinking pages of my nephew or masculine greeting cards.

I love how detailed the title is, of course, one could leave off any layers but I chose to use every one.  I also chalk all my edges to give the layers the appearance of even more dimension.

All the printed papers are from the same collection, however they are a bit different so I used the tree border to provide a cohesiveness to my pages.  The tree border is two layers, one in brown for the trunk and a green print for the foliage.

On the second page I utilized scrap paper to create embellishments which I added on top of another arrow border.  I simply fussy cut and added pop dots to the back.  I cut the same border twice in two different papers then off set them on the page.

I added some of the extra tree cuts from the title in a cluster here.  I also had these adorable camping brads.  As you can see this was a pretty wet camp out and I don't have many great pics.

Ingredients:
Miss Kate Cuttables Camping borders and Camping fun title
GCD The Great Outdoors papers
misc papers including shimmer
brads

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope I have provided some inspiration for you.  Don't forget to check out my blog for more Miss Kate Cuttables projects.
