Doggone Birthday!

Hi everyone! We finally have some sunshine in Buffalo this weekend...Still snow on the ground but no gray and dismal skies today! Hooray! I wanted to remind you all that Miss Kate Cuttables gives away a free file every day Monday-Friday, with the Friday one available to grab all weekend long! So make sure to go over there and grab some of these great files. They come perfect for printing off on your printer or cutting out with your die cutting machine. I chose to use my Cricut Explore Air to cut this out of Recollections card stock; you might chose to print and cut! It is my turn to share a project with you today using one of Miss Kate Cuttables wonderful SVG files. I chose to use this sweet file and teamed it up with a CardzTV stamp.
You can go over to Miss Kate Cuttables and grab your freebie of the day and also check out all of the great files they have for sale ! Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Hoppy Easter!

Hi folks.  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today.

This month, I wanted to use Miss Kate's Hoppy Easter Title.  As I'm not a scrapbooker these days, I decided to make it into a card, with a bit of a twist.

Before I share the details with you, I want to be sure to tell you to check out the Daily Freebie at Miss Kate's.

My card is 3 1/4" x 6" into which I cut an opening using the outline of largest mat provided with this title.  On the inside, I printed the same sized mat.  My whole plan changed at this point.  I permanently adhered the card, so it wouldn't open and then added all those luscious layers provided with the cut file.

Since I love the colors Miss Kate used on this, I print and cut everything rather than cutting from cardstock.  I was careful to either sponge or run a marker around the edges to cover the white.

After I got everything where it belonged, I accented liberally with Wink of Stella.  I also added Rainbow Sparkle Jewels to the flowers and randomly on the card front.

And here's what I did to the back, turning my card into a little picture.  The center area on the easel piece is a perfect place for a personal sentiment.

See you next month with two more projects featuring the fabulous Miss Kate's products.  In the meantime, I'm sharing the link from another Miss Kate's Easter card I made

Faux Chalkboard with Miss Kate Cuttables

Hi, Jenny from Jen's Crafty Place for today's Miss Kate's project. I know it is February but I love Halloween projects and to me it is never too early to start making Halloween décor.

I love the look of the chalkboard but I have to admit, I am no good at keeping my writing centered and straight. I decided to try a faux chalkboard and I think it came out awesome! Let me know what you think!

I used Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween Night Word Art. Instead of using my cutter in my Cameo, I inserted a Uni-bal signo white gel pen. So instead of cutting the file, the white gel pen wrote out the file. As you can see above, this is what it looks like. The white pen did not draw it without skips but I wasn't going for a solid look. I wanted it to look like a chalk board sketch so I was happy. I used an 8.5x11 piece of black cardstock. You can also use green for the faux chalkboard look. After I got my sketch I colored it in with chalk pencils. If you don't have the chalk pencils, just use chalk pieces.

When I was finished, I framed it and I was done!
Very easy and I love the results!
Give faux chalkboard a try either with this design or a different one. Please post pics below and share them with all of us!
Until next time, Happy Crafting!!

Guest Designer- Sonja Bakonyi

Hello all. I have the pleasure of guest designing for Miss Kate Cuttables again.

This round, I took the Baby Mine-Boy file and made three cards from it using paper from DCWV's Baby Boy stack.
When I do these kinds of things, I get to bring out all the fun tools and play with them.
First I grabbed three Darice embossing folders and my Sizzix Big Shot after cutting three banners out with my Silhouette Cameo 3.
For the sentiments, I decided to use embossing powder, because why not?!
Using Peachy Keen and Close to My Heart stamps, with VersaMark Ink, Recollections Tinsel Marine Embossing Powder, and my Darice heat gun, I was able to get all three sentiments done quickly
Next I cut out all the pieces to my card using the Silhouette Cameo 3.
These 3 cards ended up having a lot of little pieces to them. This is when I generally grab my Xyron Model 150 Create a Sticker to get adhesive on the back of each piece without making a huge mess with glue.

Final Product:

Card 1

 Card 2

 Card 3

Thank you for viewing my latest Miss Kate Cuttables project!
