But first I want to remind you that Miss Kate Cuttables gives 1 free SVG file away Monday through Friday (with the Friday one up also on Saturday and Sunday so you have lots of time to grab that weekend one !)
I also want to remind you that Miss Kate has a monthly challenge that is always so fun to enter so you can check both out here.
Now on to my creation. I am allergic to bees but have always loved the bumblebee because he should not be able to fly the way he is built! He is a survivor and has proven all those engineers who studied him wrong and does fly! That's my kind of bug!!!!
I used a sweet bumble bee SVG file and printed then cut it out with my Cricut Explore Air. I love how well it cut this cutie out! He is called the Smiling Bee and you can find him here.
I made him into a happy birthday card for my nephew who will become a teenager next month. I used 4 different layers of card stock to create my card fronty. A Fiskers punch was used to punch out some coordinating hearts and a Spellbinders Die Cut to cut out the arrow. A stamp from Stamp TV along with a glitter pen, a white ink pen and black Memento ink finish it up. Everything is up on pop dots to give more definition and eye appeal. Here's hoping he likes it! (at least I know he will like the cash tucked inside...lol)
I loved this little bee so much that I had to make another card with him last night! This card is called the Impossible Card as it is made from one piece of paper and the middle stands up. This fits into an A7 size envelope and lays flat. When taken out of the envelope it pops up!
Hoping you all have a great end to the month of April. Here in Buffalo we are heading into the 135th day of January! LOL
